Losing Weight

Ok, so I think we are fly back in the groove of losing weight. This is our second week of eating only whole foods. We are no longer eating processed food. It's been pretty fun actually. I feel like I am so full all the time. It has been tough on weekends. We just don't have the same schedule and trying to keep to our eating right is hard. Stress seems to be a huge role in our weight loss. Life has been so stressful recently so all I want to do is emotionally eat.

I did it!

Whoohoo! Ok, I did it. Man I really wanted that chinese food. It has been calling my name all morning. All through the crying and poopy diapers. It was the one thing that got me through lunch and helping the kids pick up toys. Then I got to the point of making the call and I was greedily looking over all the menu items I could order, even though I always order the same thing: sesame chicken and crab crowns. MMMMM... and in the back of my head I kept thinking I will have to exercise an additional 30-60 minutes for this... and I put the phone away and fixed myself a chicken breast and some tasty veggies. Now I'm full and satisifed, not only my tummy but satisified with myself and my decision. GO ME!!!!! Open-mouthed

3rd Week

Ahh! This past week has been so stressful. We are trying to buy a house and there has been nonstop stuff going on. From going to view houses to having loan stuff come up... so because of that I have had little time to exercise. I've also resorted to comfort eating. I know it's a problem and I can't seem to stop. I'm just so down and I know Logan is too. Usually he pushes me and he isn't pushing me or himself. I did start out the week really well. I spent Monday-Wednesday walking everywhere within a 3 mile radius. I had a blast too! I walked to my weight loss challenge which ended up being about 3 miles. This is so hard. We've been working at it for such a long time and I see little results. I just need to get over this plateau.

Melanie: lost 2 lbs now weighs 235

2nd Week

Not a very good week... my trainer has decided to move to NY so now I am in the process of finding a new one. It will be tough. I liked my trainer a lot and she pushed me hard. Many of the other trainers have a different way of training and I don't like it. One, they don't push people very hard. Two, they don't like using the free weights but only the machines. I personally think it's just because they are lazy. It requires more energy and creativity on their part. So wish me luck in finding a new trainer. I must have hit some type of plateau and I'm having a hard time getting through it. It just discouarges me and makes me want to give in to temptations and not exercise as much. Last week  I met with my trainer for an hour twice, did cardio 5 days for 45 minutes to an hour, and met my goal of drinking a gallon of water each day. Our weight loss challenge starts tonight. And I think I'm going to enroll in some nutrition classes starting in Feb. Maybe that will help. Here our are weigh in results:

Logan: 212
Melanie: 237

First Workout since December 13

So we had our first workouts yesterday since before Christmas. I think the last time I was at the gym was on December 13. That's almost a whole month of no exercising or strength training. My trainer pushed me hard too in order to make up for it. I thought I was either going to throw up or collapse. My legs were like rubber when I left and I could barely make it up the stairs to take a shower. Washing my hair was almost a workout for my arms! It felt good though. Man it felt good. Getting my heart rate up and pumping. It was exhilirating. If only I could remember how good it feels when it comes to getting myself there. I need to remember that it feels better than sitting around my house relaxing. Logan and I have lost about 50 pounds together so far and we need to remember that. We can do this and lose much more! We had to go get Subway last night because we haven't had time to go grocery shopping. I was good and got a 6 inch chicken with no cheese and lots of veggies. Logan was good too and got a 6 inch Club with lots of veggies. I think the hardest part of this journey will be knowing what to buy to eat right. I can exercise and strength train but when it comes to eating the right things I'm clueless. I hope my nutrition info sessions will help.
